ASM engaged Jon Hansen and GSO during a particularly challenging year, marked by staff tensions related to an internal reorganization and the non-renewal of two contracts. We needed an experienced, thoughtful, and highly skilled professional to lead a cultural and supervision review with great care and credibility—and Jon delivered.

Over the course of just a few days, Jon met with more than 50 members of our community, including our Board Chair. He approached every conversation with tact, emotional intelligence, and an open, nonjudgmental stance that made people feel heard, respected, and safe. His ability to connect with people across all roles—whether teachers, administrators, or board members—was instrumental in surfacing key themes, concerns, and opportunities. 

The report Jon produced was thoughtful, honest, and exceptionally clear. It preserved anonymity while still offering concrete insights and recommendations that have already helped guide our next steps. Because of the trust Jon built with our staff and the integrity of the process, we were able to share the report school-wide. That transparency has been a meaningful part of our healing process and has helped shift the culture in a positive direction. 

Because of the trust he earned across our Board, leadership, and staff, ASM re-engaged him to perform a full Admissions, Communications, and Advancement study. This report also has shed great clarity on our next steps forward and how we maximize efficiency, delivery, and connection while securing and growing the school's revenue stream.

Jon is insightful, approachable, and deeply professional. His contributions have already had lasting impact, and we have invited him to return for a follow- up review in the coming school year.
