St. Joseph's Institution International (SJII - Singapore)

Per some high recommendations from other highly respected heads of school, we engaged Jon Hansen of GSO to assist myself and our leadership team with understanding the current state of St. Joseph's Information and Communications Technology (ICT). This is my first year as CEO of the overall institution and it has some very unique features and legal structure. Due to both his corporate and international relations/education background, and having lived in Singapore previously, Jon quickly assessed the needs of our team with both an analytical and personal lens on our complex organization. 

 

Jon quickly established trust and rapport and created a safe space for all of the many stakeholders he engaged with to provide him with critical, detailed, and candid feedback on the real state of affairs at SJII. His ability to engage with our stakeholders in a meaningful and expedient way meant that we quickly had a detailed assessment of the current state and our needs moving forward. By zooming out from the ICT space to the overall institutional view, he was then able to not only deliver us a report that objectively evaluated the systems and their overall state, but also the state of the overall workflows/processes and personnel that advance SJII's operations and learning. 

 

Through his objective analysis that has been delivered to us clearly and with great EQ and care, we now have a clear and prioritized pathway to the next steps we need to take in our evolution and what will bring us the greatest possible return on investment. This large picture has also been brought into focus in a short amount of time, and the high ROI will serve us well for years to come. It has already informed the new strategic plan the Board and I have developed. 

 

I've personally also gained an ongoing strategic thought partner in Jon, as well as the unique provider who can also personally follow up on - and implement - some of the larger and deeper recommendations (both technically and culturally). We're excited to already be working with Jon/GSO on this next deep phase of our roadmap (optimizing our revenue stream) and continuing to see St. Joseph's flourish in its bright future.
